Name That Asteroid!

The OSIRIS-REx mission is going to asteroid (101955) 1999 RQ36. But before we do, it needs a friendlier name!

Partnering with The Planetary Society and the Lincoln Near Earth Asteroid Research (LINEAR) of the MIT Lincoln Laboratory, the OSIRIS-REx mission invites youth worldwide to participate in the quest to find a better name for our mission target.

The International Astronomical Union (IAU) names small bodies in the Solar System. The partners in this contest will recommend names to the IAU for their selection.
